Sirwan Kajjo is a Kurdish affairs analyst and a journalist based in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he worked as a content editor at Arta for Media and Development, a Syria-focused group based in Germany. Prior to that, he was a reporter for Voice of America's Extremism Watch Desk, where he covered extremism in Syria, Iraq and the broader Middle East.
His works have appeared in The National Interest, The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Gatestone Institute, The Jerusalem Post, among other publications.
Kajjo is the author of Nothing But Soot, a novel set in Syria.
He is from Amude, in Syria.
